Remembering Lions Exhibition
Monday 14th - Saturday 26th October
Open Daily 10am - 5pm
The history of lions has been entwined with mankind for millions of years and they are surely the most worshipped of all animals.
They’ve been celebrated for millennia with monuments, statues, and even cave paintings. But, thanks to that same mankind who professes to revere them, their numbers have declined by half in the last 25 years alone.
Wild lions are now just found in sub-Saharan Africa and a small pocket in India, with roughly only 20,000 left in the wild.
This rapid reduction in the number of lions is one of the least known stories in conservation because their slaughter usually happens out of sight.
The Remembering Lions exhibition and book aims to change that and open the eyes of the world to their plight before it’s too late.
Right now, their survival is in our hands. 74 of the world’s top wildlife photographers have come together as ‘Wildlife Photographers United’ for this project to stand up for lions, to raise awareness of the plight they are facing and to raise funds to protect them.
Join us in refusing to contemplate a future where we only remember them in picture books.
The exhibition features 70 stunning photographs of wild lions all of which are for sale, plus two original paintings.
All profits raised from sales during this exhibition will be donated to projects that protect lions.
Remembering Lions is the 4th book in the Remembering Wildlife series and follows Remembering Elephants, Remembering Rhinos and Remembering Great Apes, all of which were exhibited at La Galleria, Pall Mall.
The project has raised more than £500,000 for conservation to date.
