Pleasingly Plump

This is a tribute to all of those robust ladies who
brave the waves and swim vast distances in all
weathers, to the unbounded admiration of those
of us who can hardly swim at all.
In the 1950’s a New York dentist
called Neil Hefti wrote and arranged a series of
deft numbers for Count Basie and his orchestra
which can be found on the CD entitled
‘The Atomic Count Basie’.
One of them is entitled ‘Pleasingly Plump’,
which title we have respectfully borrowed
for this occasion.
