The Lockheed XFV-1 was one of the
worst aircraft ever produced.
Supposedly designed for vertical take off
and landing from small, concealed spaces
like the Harrier Jump Jet, this early attempt,
which relied for power on contra-rotating
propellers and a turbo-prop engine,
was impractical on so many levels
that the decision to produce even a
prototype beggars belief.
We show it here cunningly deployed within
a French chateau.
