Begonia with Mayflies

This begonia was grown from the
exhibition collection of the specialist growers
Blackmore & Langdon and the variety
is called ‘Pink Champagne.’
Mayflies dance around this bloom in the
dappled light of a summer evening.
Here we have altered our usual procedure
and David has painted the insects
directly onto the canvas.
