The Pusan Perimeter was the area in extreme southeast Korean that was held
by the US and South Korean troops during the furthest advance of the North Korean
troops, in the summer and fall of 1950, during the Korean War. It extended along
140 miles and was named after the coastal city of Pusan which served primarily
as an airhead for re supply and reinforcement, much of its length coincided
with the course of the Nankdong river.
